Moving Day, Part Deux

I'm standing in the (scary) kitchen on Cherry Street, and the movers have just arrived. First hurdle of the day: Even though both the moving company and I contacted the Streets Department about putting up No Parking signs across from our house, no signs are evident. This means that if the movers park a truck in front of the house, the street (which is one-way) will be blocked. The movers have the proper permits to show the police, should anyone complain, but I'm a bit bummed that we might get off on the wrong foot with our new neighbors. Oh well. :(

I've spent the past five days painting the storage room, tearing up the cat pee-stained carpet from the basement , cleaning the basement, the bathrooms, and the closets; and laying down new carpet tiles. Last night Al and I were here until 11:30 cutting tiles for the edging, and I got up at 6:00 to come meet the movers, so I'm a sad mix of hyper and overtired this morning. Hopefully I can hold it together through Sunday; the movers will be here today and tomorrow, and my dad is coming to help us with projects (like hauling away the smelly carpet) on Saturday and Sunday.

Ooh, it's time for Inventory Bingo. The movers are calling off numbers as they come into the house, and I'm checking them off and directing traffic as best I can. Exciting!
