A *Real* Instructional Video

Al's hockey season starts in another week or two, and to help everyone get ready, the team captain sent a link to the following You Tube video on positioning in the defensive zone. It's freakin' brilliant. Hilarious *and* informative. Every rec league player—forward and defense alike—should watch and learn.

Wow...Honest to god that team really sucks... i think even the Flames could beat them! Their goalie is the only reason they are even part of the game.

The video didn't even get into odd man rushes or breaking the puck out of the zone... just super simple basic defensive positioning... hilarious but frightening! (were any of us ever that bad????)

ghetto - i do think that some of us (rookies?) may have been that bad last year.... :)

what a great video, though. i'm off to email it to my team right now. and then i really ought to work, shouldn't i?

Oh yes, I think I can say with complete confidence that I was once this bad. I've played on teams that were this clueless, too. When all of us were at the same level, it didn't matter too much (I'm thinking Thursday nights at Ice Oasis in Redwood City, back in the day). More recently, when playing with guys who thought they were NHL material but really looked like this, it was much less fun.
