We'll all need to practice walking down the aisle, reading and/or singing our parts, etc., and this is when we sign all the documents with the officiant. We only have the staircase/courtyard area until 6pm, so we'll need everyone to be ready to go at 5. Thanks!

We'd like to get everyone together on Saturday (the day before the wedding) for some food, fun, and face time. You'll get to meet other wedding guests in an informal setting, and you'll also get to see where *we* met: at Ice Oasis Skating Rink in Redwood City. We're calling it "a family union" because getting everyone together reminded Lori of the family reuinions she attended as a child, and because we see our wedding weekend as a chance to unite our two families. The event is not limited to people related to us, however; our friends are part of our extended families, and we want *everyone* to meet each other!

The gathering will take place in the upstairs lounge (the stairs are on your left as you come in the front entrance), and we'll also have "ice time" from 3:20 to 4:50. Skate rental is included, or you can bring your own; also bring gloves, a sweater or vest, and ear warmers if you plan to skate. For non-skaters, the lounge overlooks the ice, but it's a comfortable room temperature (warmer than the downstairs lobby). You must remove your skates (or wear plastic skate guards) if you want to go upstairs, where the food and soft drinks will be.

Directions to Ice Oasis: If you're staying in one of the hotels in Menlo Park or Palo Alto, head north on El Camino through Atherton to Fifth Avenue and turn right. (If you're staying at the Best Western, you're already on Fifth Avenue, so turn left out of the hotel driveway.) Follow Fifth through a couple lights and a few stop signs to Bay Road. (There will be a 7-11 on your left.) Turn left on Bay, and then left again into the Ice Oasis parking lot, which is just after the 7-11. If you're coming from San Francisco, take 101 South to the Woodside Road exit, and head west. Turn left at the second light onto Bay Road. The rink is about a mile down on the right.
